Love thy neighbor as you love yourself… before we start quoting and preaching, let us do an exercise focused only on our real defined neighbors, the community of people around where we live.
Do you love your neighbors?
Do you know you neighbors’ names?
Do you know your neighbors’ history?
Do you love your neighbors when they do not look like you (physically and metaphorically)?
Do you love your neighbor in their joys and worries?
Do you help your neighbor when they need a hand or an ear?
Do you love your neighbor when they are fun and when they are stressful?
Do you share good things with your neighbors?
Do you know how your neighbor socializes?
Do you love your neighbors’ family?
Do you love your neighbor when their politics do not favor your own?
Do you love your neighbor when they seem rotten or broken?
Do you love your neighbor when they are bright and shiny?
Do you love your neighbor when they are deep and when they are shallow?
Do you love your neighbor when they have nothing to give you?
Do you love them in your head or do you love them in your heart or do you love them with your actions or do you love them none at all?

Love thy neighbor…..right?
Thought provoking. All questions asked are such a litmus test to whether our actions are reflective of what we believe in. To be honest, I don’t think I passed with flying colours.

Thanks for sharing! I was convicted about a particular neighbor near me that I haven’t reached out to in the same way I have with the others. As the saying goes, our actions speak loud!

There’s always enough preaching about love, our neighbors need us to practice love.
